I have been working on a redesign for the site for a while now. It isn’t 100% ready to go live yet, but I was tired of looking at the old design when I was posting new material to the site or editing old material. I love the new design head and shoulders above the old design.
Over the weekend, I worked for a while tweaking the old site to look more like the new design will when it is finished. I know, I know, all work and no play…. yada, yada, yada. Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
At any rate, I have up the new logo which I gave a sneak peek of a while back. Additionally, I reworked some of the colors to match the direction the new site will be going in. Plus, I took down some of the old pages that just weren’t getting any traffic.
The new site is focused on a minimalistic color pallet, cleaner graphics, less bulk, and taking advantage of some of the new features of WordPress. I am still working on functions that take advantage of the post format feature of WordPress. I think you will like the new look of my portfolio once the features are implemented. The biggest change for the new design is the move from using the Thesis framework to using my own hand-rolled framework and theme. It is going to be a child theme of the WordPress 2010 theme with many custom functions.
Hope you like some of the new elements. Stay tuned for the unveiling of the overall new design soon.
Thanks for reading!
Bradley
P.S. I am also planning to have a couple of howto’s ready to post shortly after the new site goes live. I will be detailing how I accomplished some of the new functionality. It should be a good read for all you techie’s and programmers out there!
